FAQs

There is no such thing as a ‘stupid’ question, knowledge is power so we actively encourage you to ask as many questions as you can.  Here a few that we are regularly asked but if there is something that is not mentioned, then please do leave us a message or email us and one of us will get back to you.

  • When can I start?

You can start your KGH practice at any point- the earlier the better as it gives you more time to practice and for you to make changes into the way you may think about birth. We do recommend you starting our course at around 20 weeks – this tends to be an ideal time for parents.

  • Does my birth partner have to take part?

Both of our partners were both a little reluctant to attend our hypnobirthing courses but they would both say that they are glad they did. We do encourage you to attend with a birth partner as they do have an important role in your pregnancy, birth and in those early weeks with your baby. Everyone’s circumstances are different so if you are a single parent or have a partner that can’t come every week- please do not worry. We can discuss any individual needs you might have before the course.

  • Can I have a home birth?

Absolutely! We cover all births in KGH and we would to empower you to make your own decision in your birth plan. KGH is for everyone.

  • I am having a planned caesarean- can I still practice KGH?

Yes absolutely! As we have covered earlier, KGH is for everyone. Casearean birth is a huge operation so we cover this topic in detail.

  • I can’t attend every session- Can I still attend?

Yes- we would prefer that you come to every class if you can but we understand that work, family and hobbies may get in the way from time to time. We can offer catch up sessions and we will also set you some homework so you are not missing out on any practice or reading.

  • I can’t attend the dates that you have listed

Get in touch with us- we don’t list all of our dates online, so it may be that we have a course that is more suitable for you or we do offer 1-1 private classes if you prefer.

  • What does the cost of the course cover?

We understand that our KGH course looks expensive but we would like you to see this as an investment. We cover a range of techniques, provide you with audio and video material and a copy of Katharine’s book. We spend a lot of money on items that we don’t need when we are pregnant and we both see this as an essential item for any parent to be.  Please do give us a ring if you want to find out more.
